WELCOME BACK, WELLINGTON "COACH BEEF" AFUSIA

Momentum Volleyball Club is excited to officially welcome Wellington "Coach Beef" Afusia back to the Momentum family as the Head Coach of our 2026–2027 Boys 17-1 Black team.

Coach Beef has been a valued part of the Momentum Boys Volleyball program on and off since 2018, and we are excited to have him back leading one of our premier teams this season. In addition to serving as Head Coach of our 17-1 Black team, he will also assist in the development of athletes on our 15-1 Black team, helping mentor the next generation of Momentum players.

Coach Beef brings an exceptional level of collegiate coaching experience and player development to our program.

Coaching Highlights

* Current Head Men's Volleyball Coach at Ottawa University Arizona.

* Named the 2026 GSAC Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year after leading Ottawa to a 19-4 overall record and a 12-2 conference finish.

* Guided Ottawa to a historic victory over previously undefeated and No. 1-ranked The Master's University, snapping their 47-match winning streak and earning a berth in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

* Two-time AVCA NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year (2022 & 2024).

* Has helped build Ottawa into one of the nation's premier NAIA men's volleyball programs, producing conference championships, national tournament appearances, nationally ranked teams, and numerous All-Americans.

One of the greatest strengths of our club is the relationships we continue to build with collegiate programs throughout Arizona. Momentum has been fortunate to have several alumni continue their playing careers at Ottawa University, and Coach Beef has played an important role in helping guide athletes to the next level.

Having an active collegiate head coach involved in our program provides tremendous value for our players. Beyond technical training and competition, our athletes gain firsthand insight into the recruiting process, the expectations of college programs, and what it takes to compete beyond high school. These experiences create opportunities that extend well beyond the club season.

At Momentum, our mission has always been to develop athletes not only for success today, but to prepare them for the next stage of their volleyball journey. Coach Beef's leadership, knowledge, and commitment to player development make him an outstanding addition to our coaching staff, and we are excited for what lies ahead.

Please join us in welcoming Wellington "Coach Beef" Afusia back to Momentum Volleyball Club for the 2026–2027 season. We look forward to celebrating our 10th year developing athletes and continuing to build one of Arizona's premier boys volleyball programs!

Tryouts for the 2026-2027 Boys Club Season will be August 15th.
