WHERE SHOULD YOUR PLAYER START?

01

NEW TO VOLLEYBALL

Start with Boys Academy for structured instruction in the fundamentals of the game. Younger players who are ready for a team experience may also be a fit for the Developmental Club Season.

02

PREPARING FOR CLUB TRYOUTS

Club Prep provides instruction and gameplay for older players who have some experience and want to feel more confident before tryouts.

03

LOOKING FOR MORE TRAINING OR GAMEPLAY

Summer Clinics provide focused instruction. Open Gyms give players more opportunities to play, compete and experience the Momentum environment.

04

READY TO JOIN A COMPETITIVE TEAM

The Fall Club Season is Momentum's primary competitive program for boys ready to commit to regular practices and tournament competition.

LEARN AND PREPARE

Structured instruction for players building their skills or preparing for competitive club volleyball.

PROGRAM 01

BOYS ACADEMY

Build the foundation. Grow your confidence.

Boys Academy is designed for younger and newer volleyball players, generally in sixth through eighth grade. It provides a structured introduction to the game for boys who may have limited school experience or are preparing for their first club tryout. Players work on foundational skills, movement, communication and an understanding of team play. The multi-session format gives athletes time to learn, repeat and improve in a supportive environment.

Best For

Younger players who are new to volleyball or have limited experience

Format

Multi-session instructional program

Primary Goal

Build fundamentals and confidence before competitive club volleyball.

PROGRAM 02

CLUB PREP

Prepare to compete with confidence.

Club Prep is designed for older players who have some school, recreational or limited club experience and want structured preparation before club tryouts. Training combines instruction, skill development and gameplay. Players receive more purposeful preparation than they would in a drop-in open gym while becoming more comfortable with the pace and expectations of competitive boys volleyball.

Best For

Older or incoming high school players with some volleyball experience

Format

Multi-session instruction and gameplay

Primary Goal

Prepare players for Momentum club tryouts

TRAIN AND PLAY

Flexible opportunities for athletes who want focused instruction, additional repetitions or more time on the court.

Focused training. New opportunities to learn.

Momentum Summer Clinics give boys volleyball players access to focused training outside the regular club season. Clinic topics, instructors, age groups and experience requirements may vary. Select clinics may feature accomplished collegiate athletes, professional players, guest coaches or other high-level instructors. Some opportunities may be open to eligible players from all clubs and schools.

Best For

Players looking for focused instruction or exposure to new coaches and training methods

Format

Individual clinics or short-term sessions

Primary Goal

Develop specific skills and gain quality repetitions

PROGRAM 04

OPEN GYMS

More touches. More gameplay. More chances to complete.

Open Gyms give boys the opportunity to play in age-appropriate sessions, meet other athletes and experience Momentum's competitive environment. Unlike Boys Academy and Club Prep, open gyms are primarily gameplay-based. Formal instruction is limited, making them a good complement to structured training programs. Open Gym schedules vary throughout the year and may be organized by age group or experience level.

Best For

Players seeking additional gameplay and a chance to experience Momentum

Format

Drop-in or scheduled gameplay sessions

Primary Goal

Play, compete and build familiarity with the Momentum community

JOIN A TEAM

Team-based programs for athletes ready to practice consistently and compete against other clubs.

PROGRAM 05

DEVELOPMENTAL CLUB SEASON

Take the first step into club competition.

The Developmental Club Season introduces younger players to the experience of being part of a volleyball team. It provides a shorter pathway into club volleyball with regular practices, coaching and competition against other clubs. The developmental season is generally intended for middle school athletes who are ready to move beyond introductory training but may not yet be prepared for the full Fall Club Season. The program has typically included winter evaluations followed by a shorter February through May season. Players experience regular practices, team competition and the pride of representing Momentum in uniform. Availability and season details may change from year to year.

Best For

Middle school players ready for an introductory team experience

Format

Multi-session instructional program

Primary Goal

Bridge the gap between foundational training and full club volleyball
