Tryout Sessions:
Your player must be registered for tryouts in order to participate. The tryout registration will be through our SportsEngine link. See below on how to register. A guardian is required to sign the athlete in before tryout session time and pay non-refundable $25.00 cash, check (Made out to Momentum Volleyball Club or zelle) tryout fee. Please bring all required documentation. See below for paperwork requirements. The guardian will need to come back at the conclusion of tryouts for that age group. If a player makes a roster, the Guardian will need to stay for the parent welcome meeting, set up TeamSnap account login, sign contractual paperwork, and make deposit to secure the offered spot. We expect to fill all roster spots. Please be sure to read through all club info before registering and committing to tryouts. Players will not be permitted to participate tryouts without a primary guardian.
Depending on the team you make, at tryouts you are committing to either the entire fall regional team season (August-January), or for the entire Nationals Team Season (August 2026-July 2027) season. This will be outlines in our dues. There will be a season contract at tryouts which will outline the cost breakdown/commitment. For a full breakdown of season dues, please see our club season information page click here.

AZ REGION USAV MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
In order to register for Tryouts and Participate in Club Events, all players must have an active AZ Region USAV Membership.
-
RETURNING CLUB PLAYER: If your player participated in club volleyball over the Fall 2025-2026 Season in Arizona OR the 2026 Developmental Boys Spring Season, OR Nationals, your player will have an active USAV Membership valid until Sept 1, 2026. At this time, you may proceed directly with registering for Tryouts. Be sure to have your players AZ Region USAV Membership number prior to beginning tryout registration below. This can be found by logging in to your PARENTAL GUARDIAN'S/HOUSEHOLD Sportsengine Account. If your player makes a club roster in 2026-2027, the club will direct you on how and when to purchase a new membership which will be active from September 1, 2026-September 1, 2027.
-
NEW CLUB PLAYERS: If your player DID NOT participate in club volleyball over the Fall 2025-2026 Season in Arizona OR the Developmental Boys Spring Season, OR Nationals, your player will need to have an active USAV Membership before registering for tryouts. You will need to purchase a summer membership for the player which will only be valid through Sept 1, 2026. This will be a discounted rate compared to the full yearly membership. This will allow you to attend sanctioned USAV tryouts and practices in August. The club will direct you on how and when to purchase a new membership which will be active from September 1, 2026-September 1, 2027 for the remainder of the club season.
HOW TO PURCHASE A SUMMER MEMBERSHIP:
-
CREATE SPORTSENGINE PARENTAL ACCOUNT: Have the main guardian create a Sportsengine account via the SportsEngine MMS login portal. This should be set up with parent info. This will be considered the "Household" account. Once you have the parental login and password for Sportsengine completed, you can close that window and continue to the next step. Write that down.
-
PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP AND ADD CHILD/PLAYER INFO: Once the SportsEngine account is set up, leave that site, and visit the region website. Find the Indoor Summer Membership (2025) options and select the correct age group for your player. When it asks, WHO IS THIS MEMBERSHIP FOR?, you will either select the existing child/player, OR click ADD CHILD at the bottom. Do not purchase enter the parent info when setting up the membership. This causes several issues on the backend and will require tech support to change. It will delay rostering your player and getting them eligible to participate.
-
It will then ask questions, such as "How will this player participate?", Choose Player.
-
Choose SUMMER (Do Not Choose "Season")- You may get a message that says "For outdoor and beach only" thats ok, continue on.
-
Accept the disclosures and pay the amount due.
-
Once membership is presented with the players name on it, print or screenshot that membership card. It will have the USAV member ID on it, which you will need to register for tryouts.
-
Keep in mind, this membership is only temporary to get your player through tryouts and August practices. If your player makes a club roster in 2026-2027, the club will direct you on how and when to purchase a new membership which will be active from September 1, 2026-September 1, 2027. That membership.

Can I stay to watch my son during tryouts?
No, this is a closed tryout to parents. Parents will be asked to leave or wait in their vehicle and will be given a time to return.
How will I know if my son makes a team?
Players will be notified at the end of the tryout session if they made a team or not. If your player makes a team, they will contact you right away and you will be asked to fill out the required tryout paperwork, forms, contracts, meet with coaches, and submit payment to secure roster spot, etc.
What happens after I complete my tryout paperwork?
Once your paperwork is complete, you will then go to the payment table to turn in your $600 or $900 commitment deposit. This secures your roster spot and allows us to get the custom uniform package ordered ASAP. For those on payment plans, this deposit also covers remaining August Dues. During this time, your player will be sized for their uniforms and you will be given next steps, practice info, practice schedules, etc.
When and where will practices be if my son makes a team?
Practices will be either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 5-7PM, 6-8pm, or 7-9PM depending upon which team they make at tryouts. Practices will be held at Haven Church or Desert Sky Middle School.
Are there going to be fundraising opportunities?
Momentum will offer several fundraising opportunities to assist with the costs/fees for each team throughout the season. Team fundraisers will benefit the entire team equally. Individual fundraisers will benefit each player individually.
What costs are associated with travel?
Momentum travel dues are built into the season dues including Summer Nationals. ALL extra costs, such as travel expenses, hotel, etc. are the responsibility of the player.
Who is responsible for the athletes when we travel?
We strongly recommend that parents travel with their player or send their player with another adult on the team. Players are allowed to travel and stay with another family traveling as long as there is at least 1 adult in the room. Coaches will also be responsible for making sure all players are accounted for upon arrival and throughout the tournament.
Where do we stay when we travel?
Momentum will provide parents with hotel information as it becomes available. Some tournaments will require that the team stays at the same hotel and others are more flexible. Players should plan to stay at the assigned team hotel.
