MOMENTUM BOYS 2023 8-SESSION ACADEMY:
Academy: If you know someone who will be entering 6th-9th grade and is interested in volleyball, especially if they're considering trying out at MVC in August, we highly recommend our Boys Volleyball Academy. However, for those entering 9th grade, we kindly request that they do not have any high school volleyball experience. Registration for this program has just opened today!
We will NOT be running open gyms for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders in July. This is the only event we will be running and it is an 8-session commitment. These age groups need to have formal instruction prior to entering the competitive club season. Instruction and gameplay will be included in this program which is designed for players who are seriously considering playing competitive club ball. We want them to be ahead of the game entering the season with skills, rotations, responsibilities on the court, positions they want to play etc. prior to tryouts. The first tournament comes up quickly and it can be challenging to brand new players if they haven't been provided formal instruction prior to trying out for club. Calling all boys entering 6th-9th grade interested in competitive volleyball! 🙌 Please read the details below before signing up and feel free to share this post with anyone who might be interested.
👥 **BOYS ACADEMY:** Best for 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade boys, as well as incoming 9th graders W/No High School VB experience. Some experienced 5th graders may also be eligible. If you have any questions about your player's age and skillset, please reach out to CoachDMays@gmail.com for clarification. We'll be organizing more events for high school-aged boys after Nationals in July.
🏆 Our MVC Boys Academy is a program designed for incoming 6th-9th grade boys, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and gameplay. It caters to first or second-year players and is specifically designed to prepare them for club tryouts in August. Each week, players will face progressively more challenging tasks, practicing essential skills like hitting, passing, serving, and more, followed by simulated gameplay to apply those skills in action. We'll cover rotations, offensive and defensive strategies, as well as advanced skillsets towards the end of the academy. Our goal is to ensure players are well-prepared for club tryouts.
🗓️ **Academy Schedule:**
Every Monday and Wednesday, starting from July 10th, 2023, through August 2nd, 2023.
- July 10th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th, 31st, August 2nd.
🕔 **Time:** 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
📍 **Location:** MVC Haven Church Gym
5902 W Cactus Rd Glendale, AZ 85304
💲 **Cost:** $275 for the entire series of 8 nights (16 hours of instruction from our USAV Certified Coaching Staff experienced in coaching Boys Volleyball). Payment will be made on the first night at the sign-in table.
⚠️ **Please Note:**
- No walk-ups or single-night registration allowed.
- No discounts for missed weeks.
- This program is expected to sell out, so we need to track attendance each week.
📝 **Registration Requirements:**
Only one form is required to bring with you. If you haven't signed an MVC Participation Waiver in 2023, we will email the document to you prior to the start of the academy. You can also find the form on our website at Momentumvb.com/documents.

After submitting your registration, please note that a confirmation email will not be automatically sent to you. Our team will manually confirm your registration details, ages, and experience to ensure the appropriate program for your player. We will then manually send you a confirmation to the email address provided in the form. We will also use the provided email for any event-related communications or changes.

New Dedicated Facility
We are proud to announce that the stars have aligned for us, and we have signed a partnership deal with Haven Church! Our club will be the main anchor tenant at their brand-new multi-purpose facility, which will be dedicated to housing our Boys Volleyball program year-round. We will be occupying the gym from 5 PM until 9 PM Monday through Thursday all-year long. This will allow our boys club to be at one central location and open up some of the previously occupied school gyms for our girls program. The facility is located at 59th Ave. and Cactus directly south of Ironwood high school. We thank our new friends and partners at Haven Church for this amazing opportunity!
