Our initial plan was to take 2 teams for the developmental boys season. However, we are doing everything we can to support an additional team at this time. We have about 50 players right now on our interest list. We have 25 8th graders and 24 7th Graders and some 6th graders with experience. With that said, we have had about 30 of those showing up to our open gyms and almost 2 teams worth registered for tryouts already. We invite everyone interested to come out tonight and see if we have enough players to add a third team! It really helps us project teams when players register early, so if you are able to complete that ASAP, we would appreciate it!
Final Open Gym tonight 01/25 7PM!
Tonight’s final open gym will be a late start at Desert Sky Middle School from 7PM-9PM due to middle school games in the gym before us. So we will need to be patient until they are completed. Parents are not required to stay, but are certainly welcome to! We will be available to help with any questions and tryout registration tonight! $20 cash at door. Please turn in attached waiver if you haven’t been to one of our events yet! Remind friends and family who may be interested. This is the last chance to participate before tryouts!
Tryout Registration
If your player intends on coming to tryouts at Desert Sky Middle School on Tuesday 01/30 at 6PM, they MUST have a USAV Membership and they MUST be registered in order to participate. We have broken down all of the registration instructions in the attached document. Thank you to all of you who already registered! Tryouts are Closed to parents. Parents will be able to come and sign players in their player and turn in documentation. Parents can expect to come back around 7:15pm. More info will be sent out regarding tryouts before Tuesday night. We will not be charging a tryout fee.
Documentation Required for Tryouts:
Please bring Copy of Birth Certificate if first time playing club in AZ
The Attached AZ Region forms (Safesport, Concussion, Medical) Do not double side these if possible
Be prepared to turn in $550 full program cost via cash or check to Momentum Volleyball Club at the conclusion of tryouts.
**If your player played club for the Fall 2023 Season for a different club, we also need a completed player release form.
If your player makes a roster, players must have a parent with them in the gym to complete the contract signing, complete a teamsnap registration form on an electronic device, and be provided additional season information.
Next Steps, Summer Programs, and Fall Club Tryouts
We have several of our Boys Nationals Teams who won bids recently headed to Dallas for the USAV Boys Junior National Championships! Many of them started in this exact program! In addition to our boys developmental season, we will be running lots of summer events and clinics to keep your son active in the sport. We will have open gyms, clinics, and also a 10 Week Boys Academy that is extremely popular. That program will usually run 8-10 weeks over the summer leading right into the 2024 August Fall Season Tryouts. This Spring season is more of an “introduction” to club volleyball, while the Fall Season in the full experience. The goal is to get them as much experience between now and August so they are prepared to jump right into the competitive fall club season. Many of them will be going into HS tryouts when that season ends! Time flies! Be sure to follow us on MomentumVB.com and also on Facebook and Instagram @momentumAZ and @momentumAZboys. We will email our distribution list our calendar of events as well once those are announced and when registration opens.
Thank you to everyone who has attended our boys events so far! We would not be able to provide these opportunities without your word of mouth referrals and participation. We love being able to provide competitive volleyball and will continue to help grow this amazing sport of volleyball in AZ! This is just the beginning and your are already ahead of the game! If your son loves the sport and is ready to put in the work to make a fall club team, play in HS, compete at Nationals, and continue into college, your in the right place! We have built the roadmap to success and have the knowledge and resources available to get them there!

🏐 Momentum Boys 14 & Under Developmental Spring Season: Updated 1/2/2024 🚀
Excitement is building as we gear up for an incredible Boys 14U Spring Season in 2024! We can't wait to see our young athletes in action, and we want YOU to be a part of the action too.
This Spring Developmental Boys season is a shortened season designed to either introduce your son to competitive club volleyball, or to continue his club volleyball experience in preparation for the USAV FALL CLUB Season which will begin in August. We will have a few open gyms in January to prepare for tryouts. See below.
Here is the information we currently have and ways for your son to get involved!
1. 📝 Interest Form Sign Up:
Start your journey by filling out our Interest Form/Email Distribution List Boys Spring Season. Be the first to receive updates, dates, and all the information you need to be part of the action!
2. 🏐 Open Gyms: Prepare for Tryouts and Connect with MVC!
Join us for Open Gyms—an opportunity for players to play volleyball and prepare for tryouts. This is also a great time to meet our coaches and ask questions about the upcoming Spring Season. Parents are welcome to attend and ask questions after the sessions. We highly recommend attending all the open gym sessions so we can also evaluate players prior to tryouts.
Here are the details:
Open Gym Dates: *Note 6PM pm Tuesdays, 7PM on Thursdays in January.
- Tuesday, January 16th: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Thursday, January 18th: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Tuesday, January 23rd: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Thursday, January 25th: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Desert Sky Middle School (5130 W Grovers Ave, Glendale, AZ 85308).
Cost: $20.00 cash at the table each night (breaks down to $10 an hour).

Tryout Registration will be required to attend tryouts. We will let you know once the official tryout registration is open. We will be able to assist you with the above items, including registration at the open gym sessions.
4. 🌟 About the Season:
Gear up for an exciting Boys Developmental Club Season designed for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Here's what the season holds:
Practices: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Desert Sky Middle School, starting February 6th, 2024, and concluding on April 18, 2024.
Tournament Dates:
- February 24, 2024
- March 9, 2024
- March 23, 2024
- April 20, 2024
- AM arrival times. Location TBD, but it will be local—probably on the east side.
Fees: $550.00 one-time fee at tryouts covers practices, tournaments, player shirts, and other club expenses. Cash or Check made out to Momentum Volleyball Club preferred. Helps avoid fees from CC transactions. We will also be able to take Zelle or Venmo at tryouts.
