Girls 2021-2022 Club Season Information Posted! Click Here for Details! Tryout Registration Open!

Hello!

We are excited for another amazing year of club volleyball here at Momentum Volleyball Club!

We have posted all of the information we have right now leading into tryouts. We are in the final stages of finishing up our Boys 2021 Season, which has been one of the best and smoothest seasons yet! We are excited to get “back to normal” with some of the logistics involved with Girls Club Volleyball Season and I am sure you are as well! We hope to have another 14 girls teams this season in all age groups 12-18! We will continue to update our website with the most updated information.

This year, the region has moved up our 14 and Under tryouts to November 6th. Our 15 and Older teams will tryout on November 20th. We have posted tentative tournament lineups, Projected Coaches for 14 and Under, required memberships, documentation requirements and so much more.

We will post the 15 and up age group tryout details, coaches lineups, and additional info soon!

In this email we will direct you to the club season information and provide a few important updates!

What is new for 2021-2022?

  • At this time, there are *No COVID attendance restrictions for Region Events! Family and Friends are welcome to attend all events. This is also the case for many of the Travel tournaments!

  • No mask requirement for players during MVC practices or games!*

  • Coaching Roster! We continue to take your survey responses seriously and we want to ensure that you and your family are getting the best experience possible at Momentum. Even though we had a 97% overall positive result, we are always looking for ways to improve. We feel we have made several updates to our coaching staff and our coaches assignments that only strengthen our community so we can continue to have the best coaching staff in the Valley.

  • We have added a 13s Nationals Team! Over the past several season our club has grown and so has our talent at all age groups. We have seen an influx of 13 year olds in 8th grade attempt to “play up” in the 14s age group. Many of them make a 2s or a 3s team in the 14s. This will hopefully encourage them to stay in their age groups and compete at a Nationals Level instead of a regional team in an older age group.

  • We have added an additional qualifier tournament to several teams this season

  • We have added a 3rd Coach to many of our Nationals Teams! Another suggestion on our surveys was to add additional support to Nationals teams, especially those team who travel and compete in multi-day events. This also helps our club continue our commitment to our coaching staff by giving more coaches opportunities to coach on a nationals level team and develop their skillset in order to be future head coaches at MVC.

  • New Team Fan Apparel vendor and additional items! We are one of the best branded clubs out there. Not only do we like to look good on the court, but our parents and players like to look good off the court as well. A brand new fan apparel store with updated products will launch this season! We love being out in the community and seeing our MVC Family sporting their gear! The store will open after tryouts, and yes, we will finally have some hat options! Obviously, we will approach this cautiously as many vendors are struggling to get supplies in at the moment.

** Subject to change based on venue and tournament guidelines

With all of these additions, we were able to keep our pricing within approximately $100 of last seasons pricing and the year before. Although compared to many of our larger club competitors (especially those with their own facility expenses), we are still on the lower end of the pricing matrix. We believe that we provide the best value in Club Volleyball and hopefully, the best experience where we consider you all part of our family, and not just a number. We hold our coaches and athletes to the highest standards in order to fulfill our mission each season.

MVC's MISSION is to facilitate our student athletes with the training necessary through volleyball to become great role models in our community on and off the court, and assure they have all the tools to reach their full potential in athletics through positive experiences with our volleyball club.

We will also email all of you who are registered for our current girls open gyms and open houses any major updates or changes to this information. We will also post updates to our Facebook and Instagram pages!

We would recommend the following:

  1. Sign your player up for remaining open gyms and open houses. (Open Houses are FREE and are considered additional evaluation opportunities for our coaches.

  2. Read through our Club Season General Information, Pricing & Tentative Tournament Schedules etc. Be sure to read the details regarding AGE DEFINITIONS to understand what tryout your player should come to. Check out the tentative coaching lineups at the bottom of the General Info Page!

  3. Set up OR Log into your SportsEngine Parental account and purchase the new 2021-2022 Membership for your player. (This is required to attend any and all tryouts in AZ). Memberships info is a requirement of the AZ Region of USA Volleyball. More info available on their website here . Be sure to have your players new USAV Membership number available when registering for Tryouts.

  4. If you know you are coming to MVC for tryouts, complete the Tryout Registration form. Again, you must already have your parental Sportsengine account set up and players membership purchased in order to complete this registration. DO NOT WAIT until the last minute to obtain this membership. The region and support staff is very limited during this time of year.

  5. Review the required fees for tryout and the initial deposit due if your player makes a team. Review the required documentation needed in order to tryout. We have created a rolling document available under our Club Season info page. In addition to the region Medical, Covid, Safesport, and Concussion forms, we will also need a copy of your child's birth certificate if this is the first time ever playing club volleyball.

  6. Come to open gyms and open houses. Get to know our coaches, ask a lot of questions, have fun!

  7. Show up at tryouts on time and ready to go! (Membership purchased, player registered, documentation in hand, payment ready, and prepared for another year of club volleyball!
